Hiring Great People: Selection….The Beginning Or
The Beginning of The End!!
This is a thought provoking overview of an under-practiced leadership
skill. Overview of common mistakes made in selecting or promoting
people and the objectives that need to be accomplished to make sound
selection decisions. A comprehensive selection process is reviewed
which incorporates best practices. This can be a 30-90 minute session
allowing for audience interaction.
Begin With Excellence:
This seminar is designed to help participants develop a recruitment
and selection system that will result in selecting the right people
for the right position. This process will aid in making sound hiring
decisions for internal promotions and position changes, as well
as, the recruiting and selecting people to join your organization.
The proper selection of people makes management's job possible,
however, if management makes a poor selection decision, their job
becomes impossible and organizational goals will not be accomplished.
This seminar begins with the development of the goals of a successful
selection process, works on developing the position description
that defines the behaviors, experience and chemistry required for
success in their work environment. The seminar then discusses methods
to develop a pool of candidates. Finally, the selection process
that will assure that the candidate selected is matched to the position
requirement is developed. The participants will be exposed to "behavioral
predictive instruments" and how to properly use them in the
selection process. Interviewing skills will be practiced, as well
as, a discussion on proper hiring practices. This is an interactive
seminar (ten two-hour classes) with real life assignments to apply
what was discussed in the class.
Developing Highly Productive People:
This seminar is designed for managers and owners who have the responsibility
to train and develop people. The key concepts are developed that
are characteristic of every successful training process. The three
basic types of training are examined; orientation, job related and
continuous training programs. This seminar will give the trainer/manager
the tools to design, conduct and manage/measure training efforts.
(Four three-hour classes)
Continuously Developing Excellence:
This seminar is developed for managers and owners. The complex process
of management is simplified through the development of the key steps.
How to set goals that are meaningful, how to measure goal achievement,
how to develop action plans to achieve goals, development of feedback
systems and how to use feedback productively and positively to promote
growth and learning. This seminar will also develop the fundamentals
of how to conduct an intervention or a review of progress toward
goal achievement. (Two two-hour sessions)
Team Building: - Empowering Ordinary People To Accomplish
Extraordinary Results:
Working together is not as simple as it sounds. Often there are
side bar issues that are minimizing the efforts of the group. This
interactive seminar is designed for Team Leaders, Project Managers,
Managers or Owners who desire to learn how to maximize the accomplishments
of a group. In this seminar we will develop the qualities of a Team,
how to conduct a personal exercise to determine if your group is
ready for a Team Building Meeting and how and when to conduct a
formal Team Building Meeting. We will also discuss other methods
of analyzing and developing a Team Atmosphere. The class will begin
with its own Team Building Meeting. (Two two-hour classes)
How To Conduct Effective Meetings:
Every manager or owner has to run meetings. This seminar develops
the characteristics of effective meetings and then moves into how
to run different types of meetings. The importance of this process
is brought to the forefront when the group begins to understand
the concept of time and how it relates to role of manager/leader.
This seminar is ideally run in two two-hour segments, but it could
be condensed into a two-hour segment.
The Developing of Ideal Clients:
The Strategic and Tactical Model This seminar is for anyone who
is actively responsible for developing and expanding their client
base. The initial discussion develops some common elements of how
the better client relationships have developed and then focuses
on the fundamentals of the strategic model and the sales process
that will repeat the ideal client model. Participants will be able
to develop the sales/communication steps that are followed in acquiring
and developing their clients. The result is the ability to be consciously
aware of where you are in the client development process. This requires
four two-hour sessions.
Conducting Meaningful Performance Reviews:
Often performance reviews are ineffective. In this seminar for managers
and owners we will develop a performance review process that is
designed to enhance learning and performance for both the person
being reviewed and the reviewer. The participants will also be exposed
to management review processes that are designed to improve management
performance. (Two two-hour sessions)
Problem Solving:
Often team members are confronted with “a problem” which
must be solved before new progress can be made. Many times mangers/leaders
are solving the same issues over and over for the same people or
group of people. Learn/experience how to turn problems into the
opportunities they really are, build stronger teams and individuals.
Learn how to make people part of the solution rather than part of
the problem. (Four hour session)
